We’re Different Folks With The Same Challenges!!


As a listing agent, it’s always difficult to know what the rights buttons will be with each seller.  All we can do is give a presentation that is thorough and be honest about our opinion of the property.

Most listing calls today result in an appointment that places the agent in competition with several other agents.  On occasion, we’ll have a listing presentation that is ours, and there’s no competition involved, but that’s a rare occurrence.  What will be the deciding factor for that homeowner in finalizing a selection among many agents? 

Will the seller want an agent with experience rather than a younger agent, or will the seller prefer the energy and enthusiasm of a newbie who is ecstatic about the thought of a new listing?  Will the large franchised office win over the “mom and pop” small local boutique?  Maybe the seller will go with the top price that’s presented and eliminate all lower numbers. 

Most agents will attempt to close the seller with an elaborate presentation about marketing.  MLS is a form of marketing, so it’s reasonable to say that most agents do marketing, even if it amounts to submitting the listing information to MLS.  That’s a form of exposure, and there are many companies who will syndicate that information from MLS.  There will be online exposure, even if it’s submitted by others!! 

What will be the deciding factor for most sellers?  Will it be that first impression made by the agent; the price; the experience; the type of real estate office; the degree of marketing or some other factor?  Different strokes for different folks!!!  Just thinking about how we are required to make a living with all of these challenges confronting us with every listing presentation, it makes perfect sense that real estate agents are dropping like flies and real estate offices are suddenly pizza shops.  Just thinking out loud while sitting in my 70 degree office on this 100 degree day!!

After living in Walpole, MA for many years, our family was transferred to the west coast when I was a senior in high school. In 1983, I graduated from Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, California. I am also a 1987 graduate of Providence College with a major in liberal arts and a minor in business administration. I bring to the table many years of sales experience beginning with thirteen years in Corporate Sales at Delta Air Lines. I'm the mother of three children and I'm very active within the Franklin, MA community. I am also a cancer survivor and support the American Cancer Society Charities.

My husband and I have built five homes and I've lived in a variety of other locations including Toronto Canada, Irving Texas and my current home in Franklin, MA. As a result of all my moving around, I came to the conclusion that I was an expert at moving...why not become an expert on the other side of the table? I earned my real estate license in 2004 and believe that I have found my true niche'. I can empathize with my clients on a variety of levels; whether they are buying or selling. And, like so many other good realtors out there, I believe that possessing good communication skills is one of the many keys to success.
