A Pending Sale Can Energize…..Agents….Buyers….Sellers….The Market!! Very Poweful!!

This is a post that give advice that all real estate agents should follow.  Pending and closed transactions should be announced to the world.  Everyone hears the doom and gloom.  It’s time to shout out about the positive happenings in our industry.

pending sale How can we, as real estate agents, help to improve the market?  After reading a comment posted by Margaret Rome, the author of Real Estate the Rome Way, that relayed her positive opinion of posting pending sales to help improve the current reputation of the real estate market, I thought I’d share my opinion on this topic.

I firmly agree with Margaret’s opinionWhenever one of our team listings is pending, I write a post about it on ActiveRain, WordPress, Trulia and, now, RealBird.  I will be posting a tiny widget on my blog with a pending banner across the top.  We need to pump some positive energy into the market.  The media cuts us at the knees every day.  There is nothing positive said about the real estate market on the national news.  Why would potential buyers rush to buy a home after hearing the news?

The least we can do is to promote our pending sales and closed transactions to neutralize the negativity that blares through the airwaves.  One or two pending sales online will not create a new market, but if every agent devoted some time to post about a pending sale or a closed transaction, it would make a significant difference.  It would pump energy into the market that the evening news could not destroy.  Seeing is believing!!  If potential buyers are reading about pending sales and closed transactions, they too will want to participate in real estate investments.

It’s part of marketing, and real estate agents are marketing agents, first and foremost.  Once we have a sale pending, we need to get as much mileage from each pending as possible.  It’s not the time to put the folder away.  It’s the ideal time to shout it out and spread the word that real estate is selling.  I have been doing that for years, and it works in our favor.  Think about it….but don’t think too long!!  Just do it, make your phone ring and make a difference!!!

About susanmorrison

After living in Walpole, MA for many years, our family was transferred to the west coast when I was a senior in high school. In 1983, I graduated from Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, California. I am also a 1987 graduate of Providence College with a major in liberal arts and a minor in business administration. I bring to the table many years of sales experience beginning with thirteen years in Corporate Sales at Delta Air Lines. I'm the mother of three children and I'm very active within the Franklin, MA community. I am also a cancer survivor and support the American Cancer Society Charities.

My husband and I have built five homes and I've lived in a variety of other locations including Toronto Canada, Irving Texas and my current home in Franklin, MA. As a result of all my moving around, I came to the conclusion that I was an expert at moving...why not become an expert on the other side of the table? I earned my real estate license in 2004 and believe that I have found my true niche'. I can empathize with my clients on a variety of levels; whether they are buying or selling. And, like so many other good realtors out there, I believe that possessing good communication skills is one of the many keys to success.
