Getting Off The Blocks In The Real Estate Business…A Tough Task!!

This is a very helpful post for new agents, in today’s difficult market.  It’s worthy of a reblog.

It’s always difficult to be a “Newbie” in any profession, but it’s especially challenging in the real estate business in today’s market.  Marketing is the key to success in real estate and good marketing will get you off the blocks faster and more efficiently than any other task.  Prospecting for buyers should be your first mission. 

To prospect is to seek or search for an entity.  Your first buyer may come from a blog post that you create about first time home buyers.  Another idea may be to have a conversation with a “for sale by owner” in your area and offer to blog about that listing.  Take some interior photos and negotiate a fee, in advance, if you should procure a ready, willing and able buyer.  Most fsbo’s will pay a co broke fee.  This may be the best way for you to get started in the business today. 

Marketing is the key to success, and that should be the focal point of launching your business.  Market whatever you have available to you, and make sure you market yourself.  Self promotion as well as inventory promotion will make your phone ring.  This needs to be done intensely and continually with no gaps in time.  Blogging every day and with multiple entries will not only lead to success in blogging but could also lead to your first real estate transaction.
